The Future of Hadoop
Will Hadoop lose significance to Spark and Cassandra?
Moshe Kranc, the Chief Technology Officer of Ness SES, wrote an article for CIO Review titled “The Future of Hadoop.” In the article he argues that Hadoop, like other products who are first movers, will lose its momentum to fast followers who have the opportunity to learn from the mistakes of the innovators and ultimately improve upon the product. He writes, “But, Hadoop as a product ecosystem is certainly showing its age and for many use cases, it has been upstaged by more modern technologies like Spark which had the benefit of learning from Hadoop’s growing pains.”
